Cutting board maintenance

 

Our boards are factory-sealed with a blend of mineral oil and beeswax. Both are approved food safe.

They may arrive with a small bit of residue, which can be easily removed with a paper towel.

To clean your board simply rub it with soapy water, rinse, and wipe dry.

Avoid submerging it in water and never put it in a dishwasher!

An occasional wipe with a food grade mineral oil will maintain its water resistance,

To disinfect your board, you can use undiluted white vinegar or diluted bleach. (2 tbsp/gal.)

To deodorize and remove stains apply baking soda then rub with white vinegar.

In either case rinse and wipe dry.

A less vigorous but pleasant-smelling alternative would be lemon juice.

 

Please do not place it near a heater or stove element!
